Create a WordPress Site with A2 hosting

The first thing we want to do is make sure we’re in our cPanel interface. Then we we want click on WordPress – A2 Optimized

From there we will be sent to a page where we can create a new WordPress application. You’ll notice that there is a blue install button. Click it to create a new WordPress application.

You’ll be sent to a page with a bunch of different text boxes the following text boxes we’ll be working with are

  • In directory box in the Choose Url section
  • Admin username
  • Admin password

There is also a section that involves updating the site description. You can update this if you want but feel free to keep it as it is.

The first box we want to update is the directory box in Choose url. The name you choose for the directory of your application will

  • Determine the name of the folder your WordPress application is located in (which will be useful if you wanted run your WordPress site on your local machine or if you plan on creating a custom plugin, but don’t worry about this for now
  • The url of your WordPress application. Your sites url will be in the following format It would be yourname.a2hosted.com/urlofyourchoosing

Enter the name of your choosing for directory, I will be setting the url to a2wp

Next we want to change the admin username and password. Theres a username and password already present for us, and you can use the ones provided if you’d want (just make sure to remember them!)

When you’re done, click on the install button on the bottom of page.

Now, we need to wait a few minutes for our application to install.

After we finish installing we’ll be sent to a page that will tell you the url of your WordPress site and the url where you can access the admin panel

Another way we can access the admin interface is going back to cPanel, clicking on WP-A2 Optimized, and scrolling down to see the list of our installed WordPress applications. You would just need to click on the icon that looks like a person and it will take you straight to the admin panel
